What's on this Easter?

It’s almost time for schools to break-up and for all of us to take advantage of the last of the hot Summer days before Winter creeps up on us! Tea in the Trees will be open for the Easter Weekend for yummy breakfasts, fresh lunches and delicious baked treats.

Welcome to the Team Jo!

Not only are we open but the lovely Jo Styles (formerly from East London's favorite Salad Days) will be bringing her fun energy, beautiful cakes and kitchen pzazz to Tea in the Trees! We're looking forward to having Jo on the team so please give her a nice welcome and tuck into her delicious, stylish cakes with a smile.

Join us any day over Easter weekend between 9-2pm. Bring the kids to run around the forest and climb the jungle gym, bring granny and grandpa for an Easter Sunday breakfast or bring your buddies for a freshly brewed coffee and a chat. Check out our menu online and take a sneaky peek at what's available to eat and drink in the restaurant and visit our hompage to check our opening times.

Look forward to seeing you and Happy Easter from the Tea in the Trees team! :)

Keiskamma Music Academy perform in Chintsa

Tea in the Trees Forest Theatre hosted the students from the Keiskamma Music Academy on Sunday 3rd Feb, in Chintsa. The 16 learners who performed in Chintsa are a part of a larger project based in Hamburg where young people are offered the opportunity to take part in a musical education and encouraged to express themselves and enjoy the personal development that comes from this education. Hamburg historically offers few programs like this one and has a high rate of teenage youth social problems like alcoholism, unemployment and teenage pregnancy amongst others.

These young musicians have access to a range of instruments and musical genres and at this concert we enjoyed recorder music, percussion and a brilliant performance from a young flutist. The musical genre passed easily from classical Western music to popular music and traditional Xhosa. What an great experience!

Watch this short youtube clip of the concert...

Thank you to all members of the project who performed in on Sunday and to everyone involved in the Keiskamma Project. To find out more visit www.keiskamma.org.
